10 Things I Love About My Sister (Pt. 2)

It's no secret that Kelly is my absolute favorite person on the entire planet. The reasons are endless, but the moral of the story is that she's my best friend, sister, business partner, confidant, therapist, court jester; the ying to my yang, the jelly to my peanut butter, the avocado to my sourdough toast. I could brag about her all day.

With that in mind, and in light of Kelly's heartwarming blog post last month (perhaps I'm slightly biased), I've decided to write my own version for her. So without further ado, here are 10 things I love about Kelly:

1. Kelly is the ultimate movie-quoter.
1. Seriously, she can quote almost any line from any *good* movie. Half the time I don't even know what she's talking about, but it's still impressive. We have a couple faves (The Grinch, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Mulan) and if you spend even just a couple minutes with us, you'll pick up that half of our conversations are solely movie quotes.
2. Kelly is one of the funniest people I know.
1. Kelly can have even the grumpiest of grandpas in absolute stitches. Between singing, dancing, quoting and impressions, you are guaranteed to *almost* pee your pants when hanging with Kelly every single time...
2. 0/10 recommend making eye contact with her during serious situations.
3. P.s. have you ever met her alter ego, an 80-year-old woman named Arlene with a smoking addiction? Oh my lanta, you're missing out. 
3. She is always looking for opportunities to learn.
1. Kelly has a deep hunger for knowledge and is always challenging her mind. She is constantly learning, researching, studying, reading and expanding her mind. (Secret confession: half the time she uses words that I have to look up later...)
4. Kelly is open-minded.
1. She is open to literally every walk of life. "Oh you're half alien, half unicorn? How cool! Let's get coffee. I'd love to learn about your childhood experiences!"
2. But seriously, I admire Kelly's ability to stay so open-minded to different people, backgrounds, values, and beliefs, even if they don't match her own. 
5. She is as sweet as pie.
1. This one speaks for itself... think of a sweet potato pie covered in marshmallows, caramel, whipped cream and extra sugared sprinkles. That's Kelly. She is kind to every living being she comes across and treats everyone with respect and dignity. 
2. With a heart of gold, she'll do anything to make the lives of those around her that much better. Did you know: she spent years providing care for underserved youth, adults with developmental disabilities, and children with cancer? Saint (and very patient). 
6. Kelly's world is filled with rainbows and sunshine.
1. I always used to joke that Kelly lives in a world where chipmunks braid her hair and deer greet her at the window every morning. I genuinely appreciate Kelly's sunny disposition and peppy optimism (it really balances out my sarcastic realism). Kelly will always find the bright side and focus on the positive in every situation.
7. She loves Boo Boos as much as I do.
1. Kelly is the ultimate auntie to Charley Bear. She gives her lots of cuddles and extra carrots, and treats her like the princess she is. What more could a mother ask for?!
8. Kelly has an adventurous soul.
1. Between traveling the world, ocean fishing, hiking Mt. Whitney, skiing, wake boarding, dirt biking, and so much more, Kelly is the ultimate adventure babe and partner in crime. She truly wants to see, experience, and understand every part of the world, which I think is admirable. 
9. She is non-judgemental.
1. I can tell Kelly literally anything and I know she won't love me any less. I am the best, most honest version of myself when I'm around her.
2. Whether you're best friends or new friends, she gives everyone the space to be their most authentic self and feel welcome in her presence. It is such a special gift.
10. Kell Belle is the best friend you could ever have.
1. Need a shoulder to cry on? Kelly's there. Someone to laugh with? No problem. Someone to confide in and share all of your secrets? Count on Kelly. She is (in my eyes) the perfect friend and I wouldn't be where I am today without her love and friendship.
